Daycare center

Childcare in a daycare center allows parents to balance work and family life more easily. It offers both an appropriate educational framework and an infrastructure adapted to the child’s needs.

There are two sites for the daycare center in Remich: rue Enz (cycle 1) and Gewännchen (cycles 1-4).

The daycare center offers morning  and afternoon care as well as a restaurant for children. The meals are prepared in the kitchen of the site “Gewännchen”.

Parents’ school

The Parents’ school is a preventive service of the Kannerschlass Foundation.

Set up in 2002, it targets all parents (from future parents to parents of teenagers) who want to meet, discuss and exchange ideas in a group about parenting, educating children and everyday family life.

The eastern section now covers 6 communes: Betzdorf, Echternach, Grevenmacher, Junglinster, Remich and Schengen. This initiative has enabled the École des Parents to expand its field of intervention in this part of the country, in response to demand from parents and professionals alike.

The of the School of Parents – eastern section is based in Remich and coordinated by Patrice Moes-Gretsch, a qualified educator and family therapist.

Activities are for:

  1. Parents
The Parents’ School supports and accompanies parents in the upbringing of their child/children and is a project with a preventive character.
It is not an individual consultancy center, however, parents can contact the Parents’ School for an initial exchange of orientation.
  2. Professionals from the educational & social sector
In order to reach as many parents as possible, the Parents’ School acts in close collaboration and seeks opportunities for cooperation with municipalities, parents’ associations, day care centers, maisons relais, schools,… They are offered the knowledge, thematic areas and events on parenting.
  3. Companies, firms, banks …
Recently, the Parenting School is dedicated to a new form of partnership. They thus respond to requests from companies that want an offer to support their employees who are parents, allowing them in this way a better balance between professional life and family life.
