Abolition of ‘Ecobacs’ from 1 January 2027

Residents are hereby informed that the SIGRE syndicate has decided to discontinue the use of “Ecobacs” in its waste container collection system with effect from 1 January 2027. The “Ecobacs” must therefore be replaced with a wheelie bin.

What do you need to do?

Households that currently have an “Ecobac” are asked to contact the Population Office to exchange it free of charge for a wheelie bin of their choice (45, 120 or 240 litres).

What will happen to your old Ecobac?

You have two options:

  • You can keep your old Ecobac (it will no longer be emptied from 1 January), or
  • You can return it to us. In this case, please leave it outside your home. We will collect it when your new wheelie bin is delivered.
