Important Appeal to Save Water

Dear residents,

Due to the ongoing drought and increased water consumption, the City of Remich’s water reserves have declined significantly over the past few weeks.

We therefore appeal to all residents to use only the necessary amount of drinking water with immediate effect.

How you can help:

  • Take short showers and avoid taking baths.
  • Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth.
  • Only use washing machines and dishwashers when they are fully loaded.
  • Refrain from watering lawns.
  • Water plants only in the morning or in the evening.
  • Do not fill or top up swimming pools.
  • Please do not wash your car at home and use professional car wash facilities instead.
  • Check water pipes and taps for leaks.

For this reason, only the part of the water play area at Place Kons that is supplied with rainwater will remain in operation. The misting system, which uses drinking water, will be temporarily switched off.

Thank you for your understanding and your solidarity.

Méi net am Mee

May has just begun, and ideally, the lawnmower will stay put.
For the fourth time, SIAS and its partners are launching the “Méi net am Mee” campaign. The idea is beautifully simple: mow less in May and allow flowers to bloom.
This creates more habitats and food sources for our butterflies, bees, bumblebees and other pollinating friends. Pollinators need our support more than ever, and we depend on them just as much.
Order your free sticker from one of the campaign partners for your letterbox, and join the competition by sending a photo of your garden at moien@sias.lu or sharing it with the hashtag #BlummefirBestëbser.
